Social media allows the audience to express their views, and it’s imperative that consumers can communicate their opinions at a time when trusting the media is at an all time low.
The access media has reached a point where they’re no longer objective . And yes, there are some exceptions; however, some studios have decided to filter out the negative comments completely and focus on what’s better for them (the providers) vs what the audience wants to say (the consumers).
For instance, when HBOMAX released “Velma,” the audience hated the reboot and by deleting the negative comments, Warner Brothers showed disdain towards the original “Scooby Doo” fans.
During the BAFTAS, there was a terrible performance by Oscar winner Arianna DeBose. The audience was vocal about how much they hated it, but of course, the access media tries to spin it, and then of course, there are a few exceptions
Viewers like to be heard, and if before the release of a visual product, the viewers are unhappy, the product will fail, even if the access media tries to spin it. By blocking the audience’s comments, the studios are pushing consumers away instead of listening to them.
